Ferroll "Tammy" Taylor
Ms. Taylor is a graduate of Hatfield High School, Hatfield, Arkansas. She began her musical studies with Mrs. Edward N. Johnson of Mena. Ms. Taylor studied with Metropolitan Opera soprano, Margaret Kalil, at Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana, and with Dr. Dennis Jackson at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. While at NLU, Ms. Taylor was a member of the Concert Choir and the Chamber Singers under the direction of Dr. Edward Deckard.
Ms. Taylor is an active member of the Arkansas Choral Directors Association. Her other professional memberships include the American Choral Directors Association, Music Educators National Conference and Arkansas Music Educators Association. Ms. Taylor is an alumnus of Alpha Lambda Delta scholastic sorority.
Before entering the teaching profession, Ms. Taylor worked in management for Toys R Us. She began her teaching career at Van-Cove High School where she was the band and choir director for seven years. Ms. Taylor was the choir director at DeQueen High School and Middle School for five years before coming to Mena in 2002. She has been a clinician for the Texarkana Choral Festival and has been an adjudicator for various choral festivals in Arkansas.
